“Pedagogical society should be made more humane”

The international conference “Modernization of Constant /Continuous/ Practice and Introduction of Organizational Mechanisms in the System of Higher Pedagogical Education” wrapped

 up at Armenian State Pedagogical University on July 4. 
 
ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan said the conference proved to be highly effective; in the past five days the participants did not only present their reports on the subject matter, but also laid a solid basis for further scientific cooperation. “The conference was held in a lively atmosphere, accompanied by clashes of opinions, with the participants expressing their viewpoints and attitudes. This again speaks of the productivity of the conference,” said the rector.
 
Thanking the guest participants of the conference who had arrived in Armenia from foreign countries, Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan emphasized that in addition to their scientific content and objective, similar events also provide an opportunity for the participants to know each other better and become friends, which is the most effective guarantee for future cooperation.
 
Ara Yeremyan, Vice-Rector for Personnel and International Cooperation, thanked the participants of the conference, assessing the results of the conference as productive and fruitful. He also noted that all the reports presented during the international conference had been published in one collection.
 
In the context of debates held during the conference, Srbouhi Gevorgyan, Vice-Rector for Educational and Scientific Affairs, singled out the important issues the participants raised in their reports and the solutions proposed by them. 
 
In his turn, Professor Alexander Gluzman, Rector of the Crimean University for Humanities, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, stressed that the theme of the conference was highly important for the entire educational system. With regard to the pedagogical practice, the professor said, “Educational institutions expect us to prepare qualified and skillful professionals and educators, rather than specialists with incomplete knowledge. Our objective is to bring school and university closer to each other. Pedagogy is not a profession or function, it is a mission.”
 

He further stressed that the pedagogical society should be made more humane. To this end, he suggested searching for new methods and ways in order to organize work correctly and efficiently. 
 
Academician Gluzman expressed his hope that in the near future research works at the ASPU will be devoted to the modernization of constant /continuous/ practice and introduction of organizational mechanisms.
 
At the end, Gluzman expressed his admiration for Armenia’s cultural monuments. “I am deeply impressed and fascinated by everything that I saw in Armenia. I shall remember this beautiful country for a long time,” he said. 
 
On the sidelines of the international conference, ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan and Rector of the Crimean University for Humanities Alexander Gluzman signed an agreement on scientific and cultural cooperation.
