It is already a month that a Career Center operates at the Strategic Management Department of the Pedagogical University. The Center aims to give consultation to the University
applicants, students, and graduates on their professional disposition, to assist them in choosing and developing the necessary abilities and skills to satisfy our days’ requirements of the employment market.
Today the first training of the Career Center took place. The opening speech was give to the Vice-Chancellor on the Scientific and Postgraduate Part, Ara Yeremyan. He advised those present to understand and digest properly the information they receive and to comprehend their own role and responsibility in the work of the Center.
The Head of Strategic Management Department, Rita Gevorgyan introduced the aims, problems, and functions of the Center, and mentioned that the establishment of the Center would allow them to keep in touch with the employees and to look into the employees’ comments and suggestions on preparing the specialists.
“The Career Center will provide future graduates with such knowledge, abilities, and skills which will ease the employment searches in today’s difficult circumstances”, says Rita Gevorgyan, and then adds that the students’ database is already being accumulated. This process will much simplify the route to provide them with jobs.
The topic of the first training of the Career Center was self-evaluation, with the help of which an attempt was made to asses and to bring up the students’ needs, to confirm and raise the strengths of the participants and such professional fields where they can best realize themselves.
The freshman of the Faculty of Psychology of Education and Sociology, Sarah Vanyan is much pleased to participate in today’s training. She especially considers interesting the fact that the training gives opportunity to discover the group with which she will further work. She is sure that many people will find convenient jobs with the help of the Center.
