A few days ago, a group of students from different departments of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography visited the Marmarik and Hrazdan reservoirs, the Hrazdan TES, the

Mineral Resources of Hanqavan, the Meghradzor farm pond, where they were practically introduced with the physical and economic-geographical characteristics of the Marmarik valley, the Marmarik river basin; there they also fulfilled some water-gauging activities and observations.
All this was realized within a one-week educational internship which the students spent at the Agavnadzor educational unit. Accompanied by the supervisors Ms. Raya Qaramyan, Ms. Maro Qocharyan, Mr. Edmond Zavaryan, Ms. Sima Dayan, Ms. Varduhi Hovhannisyan, the students’ internship was held with a full and meaningful schedule.
In the Aghavnadzor area the students made some research of the plants characteristic to the local landscape, the soil horizons and the representatives of the fauna, taking into consideration as well as highlighting the ecological peculiarities and problems of the area.
During the theoretical courses the students received knowledge which was practically strengthened with live observations and experiments exploring the flora and the fauna typical to the valley of Marmarik. The observations are usually discussed, analyzed and summarized during the daily practical classes.
What is more, this internship gave the students an opportunity to get acquainted with the local historical-architectural monuments; they were particularly impressed with the house-museum of the Orbely brothers in Tsakhkadzor.
And last but not least, the student made their leisure exciting and meaningful too; a campaign was organized dedicated to the victims of the Herosima and Nagasaki cities in Japan; on this occasion special lamps and peace cranes were prepared, which will be later send to Japan.
