Lecturers of the Faculty of Primary Education headed by Dean HeghineKhachatryan today visited School â„–57 after VahanTotovents. The aim of the first meeting with the teachers and chief methodologist of elementary classes was to introduce the work plan [for the current year] which had been developed by the Faculty, discuss future steps and provide methodological support to the school.

Laura Avagyan, an assistant of the Chair of Native Language and its Teaching Methods after AshotTer-Grigoryan, Candidate of Philological Sciences, who also coordinates a project supporting elementary schools, presented in chronological order the action plan.
Reciprocal visits between the two institutions, meetings and exchange programs with teachers of other schools, methodological guidance and practical training, monitoring of teachers’ activities and their needs and assessment of the results… These are all included in the action plan.
During the practical discussions, the dean of the Faculty of Primary Education,HeghineKhachatryan, assured everyone that in the near future the Faculty would draft and present patterns of teachers’ individual plans and educational materials.
The participants of the meeting also stressed the importance of introducing the institute of a teacher’s assistant at elementary classes. This method unprecedented in Armenia will be applied at School â„–57 after VahanTotovents starting from October.

ASPUlecturers claimed that the process would benefit both parties, with the University volunteers assuming the responsibility for the process.
To strengthen the ties and cooperation between teachers and parents, the specialists suggested a new format of parent-teacher meetings which, as they said, would enable them to avoid the archaic methods by helping parents solve their children’s psychological problems on their own.
In order to make the teaching process [at elementary classes] more interesting, ASPU lecturers gave the school books, documents and posters compiled by the Chair of Native Language and its Teaching Methods.
At the end of the discussion, the sides agreed to continue the meetings in the future and hold the next meeting at the ASPU.
Let us remind that during the previous academic year ASPU lecturers held a series of auditions on relevant subjects with the aim to monitor, estimate and reveal the needs of elementary classes. This meeting was the first attempt of future cooperation and mutual support.
