The First Demonstration of Logopedics Work
16.03.2012
The 3rd year students of the Department of Logopedics and Clinical Principles of Special Education of the Faculty of Special Education at the Pedagogical University prepared a

 demonstration on Logopedics work.

Different types of games were presented during the demonstration, “Castle Questions”, “Camomile”, “S or Z”, etc.- games which are aimed to improve the phonemic processes, to correct the wrong pronunciations, and to develop respiration.

“It is the first time that such a demonstration of Logopedics work has been arranged at the University. It is very important for all pedagogues to be familiar with various games that stimulate logic as due to them the child will not get bored and unresponsive during the classes. This kind of demonstration makes the students’ practical work much easier”, says a 3rd year student of Logopedics, the organizer of the demonstration, Laura Baghdasaryan.

The demonstration was also marked with the presence of representatives from the “Bridge of Hope” NGO, who had expressed will and interest for further exchange of skills and experience to cooperate with practical logopedists.

The work of a logopedists is based on repetitions, which makes the teaching process rather tedious. Thus, the variety of games will make the on and ongoing process much more interesting and effective.

“One of the positive sides of such events is that the students understand the importance of application of the didactic materials which they made themselves in the Logopedics work,” says the Dean of the Faculty of Special Education, Armine Avagyan.

The idea to organize a demonstration rose within the framework of the programme “Training for Students”. It was intended to prepare didactic materials which could be applied by the specialists of the sphere.

“It is very important that with our methodological support the students prepared all the didactic materials on their one. These are descriptive games that make speech exercises for a child. They allow the students to have an idea about the work, and ability to get oriented in different corrective situations”, says the Head of the Department of Logopedics and Clinical Principles of Special Education, Janna Paylozyan.

Anna Malkhasyan studies on her 3rd year at the Logopedics Department. She also gives an importance to such events. She thinks they are quite a necessity for all the future pedagogues, as in future they are going to deal with children with different speech problems.
