During the month-long visit, the ASPU delegate had numerous meetings and discussions with representatives of the German university, secondary and special schools as well as nursery schools. The meetings provided her with the opportunity to get acquainted with the peculiarities and approaches of the sphere in practice.
The special pedagogue also got familiarized with the education system of the German university, educational programmes, plans and modules applied at the Institute of Special Education, Development and Rehabilitation Pedagogy (Institut für Sonderpädagogische Entwicklungsförderung und Rehabilitation -ISER), as well as with the organization of inclusive education, the system of special education, and research projects “KOMPASS” and “Rügener Inklusionsmodell” underway at the German university.
During her meeting with the Institute professors, Araksia Svajyan introduced to her foreign partners the education system in Armenia, specifically the system of special education, organizational forms, the structure of the Faculty of Special Education, as well as the results of her dissertation.
“The initiation was sent by the German side in the person of ISER Director, Professor Katja Koch. The visit was very important, given the ongoing educational reforms in our country,” Araksia Svajyan said in conversation with armspu.am.
