Today, specialists from the Public Journalism Club made a visit to the Pedagogical University. The main aim of the visit was to introduce the pilot version of the “Mynews” public correspondent platform which is one of the projects of the Public Journalism Club to the future journalists and simply those active and dynamic young people who like to write.
The specialists of the Public Journalism Club made a detailed introduction to the students of the Department of TV&Radio Journalism of the Pedagogical University on how to register in the website, how to use it, also how to find the topics of the material posted on the website.
It should also be mentioned, that a special platform has been created for the professional journalists working for the “Mynews” civic, public correspondent, the main media or specialized news websites, where it is possible to cooperate and to be in correspondence with one another.
As a matter of fact, it is the Director of the Public Journalism Club, Seda Mouradyan who stands behind the idea of creating the “Mynews”, and as she explains, “The idea occurred to me while I was studying in the USA and making a research on social media and public journalism. It is at that time when I started thinking about the probable “marriage” of the professional journalism and public correspondence. Then the “Mynews” was created which, will hopefully give a chance to the Armenian hushed and passive consumer to become a dynamic creator and distributor of information.
“Mynews” allows posting video-correspondence, photo-histories, making notes on the site, while with the help of the assignments section one can send correspondence requests to one another.
In addition, unlike the other platforms, the website has an element of virtual prestige i.e. with the help of correspondence one can gain rating scores, get virtual rewards, obtain new virtual positions, and receive virtual and real prizes.
