“In the past, being a teacher was considered to be a mission delegated from the above, but now it is just a profession the requirements and the criticism of which are gradually increasing”, the employee of the National Museum of Ethnology in Japan and the MINPACU intercollegiate research institute, Professor of the Osaka University Mitsuhiro Shimmen mentioned during the meeting with the teaching-professorial team and the students.

The museologist introduced in his report the Japanese writers, intellectuals Natsume Soseki and Haruki Murakami, highlighting the role of their works in the course of modernization of Japan’s.
Moreover, during his speech Mitsuhiro Shimme emphasized the main reasons due to which the above mentioned writers received both criticism and awards; he also added that literature is the last hope of peace and serenity for Japan.
In addition, the museologist demonstrated in details the Japanese Meiji period with pictures and video presentations and thoroughly explained about the wars that brought major changes in the history of Japan.
At the end of the meeting those present asked Mitsuhiro Shimmen their questions that referred to the educational problems and the attitude towards the profession of pedagogues in Japan.
What is more, among those present at the meeting arranged by the initiative of the Director of the Museum Alvard Grigoryan were the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Ms. Srbouhi Gevorgyan, the Dean of the Faculty of Special Education Arminei Avagyan and students from different faculties.

To sum up, the Japanese guest made a tour around the museum where he was introduced with the history and chronology of the Pedagogical University.
