“I deeply consider the preservation of the mother tongue an issue of a nationwide concern. An absolute destruction and extinction of Armenian is taking place; this is a language
and cultural enslavement that brings forth a geopolitical aggression”, this is what the writer, literary critic, playwright, novelist Alexander Topchyan stated during his meeting with the students and the teaching –professorial team of the Pedagogical University and urged the future pedagogues not only to read and write but also to speak Armenian.
The guest visited the Pedagogical together with his wif- an actress, novelist, translator Anahit Topchyan.
“The formula of rationality and the beautiful- sometimes they collapse and give birth to the truth. Our today’s meeting is the combination of both”, the initiator of the meeting, the Head of the Department of Armenian New and Modern Literature and its Teaching Methods Souren Danielyan mentioned in his welcoming speech and added that the creative works of artists that had already become individuals, continued to remain in the core of activities of the Philological Faculty.
Further on, the guests spoke about their creative life, the motives they had when making their first literary steps, after which they answered to the questions of those present.
In addition, Mr. Alexander Topchyan who had visited the Pedagogical University on different occasions, when comparing the present and the past of the university observed the internal serenity its renovation of the university brought to the students.
Within the framework of a dialogue the actress, novelist and translator Anahit Topchyan also spoke with the students. She told about her creative wanderings during different years, the current activities, presented the printed books and some exempts from the roles she played.
As a matter of fact, Anahit Topchyan did not outline any of her professions of actress, novelist or translator as being dearer to heart and noted the following:
“These three professions are altogether. Realizing my individuality I have understood that I am still on the path of development and I am not sure what I will be doing tomorrow.”
Anahit Topchyan, the author of numerous books, who also created more than 100 roles, considers as the highest mark the impression her audience and readers received from her. “
