The Centre of Culture of the University hosted an event devoted to Rasoul Gamzatov headed as “I want to speak of love across the world.”

The event was arranged within the framework of the international competition “Reading Rasoul Gamzatov”, and was marked with the participation of various schools and universities.
The Pedagogical University was represented at the Competition by the 2nd-4th year students of the Faculty of Russian Philology supervised by the Head of Russian and Foreign Literature Department, Ruzan Tadevosyan.
The event was opened by the students performance of the song “Krunkner /the Cranes” written on the poem with the same name by the Dagestani writer Rasoul Gamzatov.
Further on, the event introduced the poet’s life and his creative path. Those present had the luck to listen to the poet’s famous works which were accompanied by documentary movies. The well-known and outstanding writer was once in Armenia and wrote numerous poems about it; luckily, the poems were translated into Armenian as well.
The lecturer-professorial team of the Philological Faculty, together with students from different faculties attended the event; and besides them, Natalia Yuremenko, the representative from the “Rossotrudnichestvo” , was also present at the event as an honorary guest.
In addition, it should be also mentioned that detailed information on the events organized within the framework of the international competition “Reading Rasoul Gamzatov” will soon be available on the Internet. The winners of the competition will be announced after the voting.
