 University Museum Open to the Visually Impaired
Today, the President of the “Ari-Ari” foundation, the Director of the Typhlology Studio in Poland, teacher  of the visually impaired Mr. Marek Yakubovski visited the University Museum by the invitation of the Faculty of Special Education.

 
 
Mr. Marek Yakubovski visited the Faculty of Special Education numerously, but on this occasion he was invited to the University Museum to discuss issues about creating special conditions and facilities for the visually impaired visitors of the Museum.
 
As assured by the Director of the Museum, Ms. Alvard Grigoryan the idea to adjust the museum for its visually impaired visitors was considered long ago, however, consultations with the leading specialists of the sphere are extremely important before launching the programme. 
 
In his turn, Mr. Marek Yakubovski, after being introduced the Museum conditions and facilities, highly assessed the possibilities of the Museum to make the special arrangements to accommodate the Museum for the visually impaired visitors; he promised to make practical suggestions in the near future.
In addition, the pedagogue for the blind brought special typing equipment to the University the application of which will allow to make some of the University material available for the use of the visually impaired.

 
 
The Director of the Museum Ms. Alvard Grigoryan and the Dean of the Faculty of Special Education emphasize the importance of creating such conditions in several perspectives.
“Such an initiative is an important component of the practical working-process for the future pedagogues for the visually impaired and the museologists; each of them must highlight and create equal conditions for visually impaired persons”, mentioned the Director of the Museum Ms. Alvard Grigoryan, and added that there were very few museums with such conditions in Armenia.
 
“When you notice its necessity, you cannot ignore it”, the Dean of the Faculty of Special Education Ms. Arminei Avagyan mentioned during her interview to the armspu.am and once again stated the every individual as well as the visually impaired have the right and the necessity of information and equal use of everything.
We should also mention that tomorrow Mr. Marek Yakubovski will deliver a lecture for the teaching-professorial team and students of the University; the lectures are open to all interested persons.
