“He left his imprint and passed away, but his works will be the inseparable companion of our literary public and youth for a long time,” Suren Danielyan, Acting Head of the Chair of

New and Modern Armenian Literature and its Teaching Methods, said in his opening remarks during the reminiscence matinée dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the poet and literary specialist Levon Mirijanyan.
The matinée organized by Mr. Danielyan was attended by Galust Sahakyan, Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), a senior HHK parliamentarian, Hovhannes Papikyan, Spokesman for the RA Constitutional Court, Lusine Danielyan, Principal of School â„–155 named after Levon Mirijanyan, Rouben Mirzakhanyan, Rector of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), as well as lecturers and students of the University.
“He (Levon Mirijanyan) considered patriotism to be the greatest human virtue. Levon Mirijanyan was himself a great patriot,” said Professor Aelita Dolukhanyan, Head of the Chair of Ancient and Medieval Armenian Literature and its Teaching Methods, Doctor of Philology. She assured the attendees that the event would provide the students with an opportunity to learn lessons from the writer’s life, creative activity and poetry.
While the Professor underscored the writer’s productive activities in translation and publication and his interest in medieval literature, she attached special attention to his publication of the poetry of Komitas Vardapet. “The public should be aware of the poetic heritage of the great composer,” she stressed.

Later on, the students performed the poet’s songs and poets. Also, reference was made to Levon Mirijanyan’s bibliography and creative life which was full of honest motivations and struggle.
Armine Muradyan, Associate Professor of the Chair of Ancient and Medieval Armenian Literature and its Teaching Methods, and Knarik Abrahamyan, Candidate of Philological Sciences, referred in their reports to Levon Mirijanyan’s works, with students performing his song "Ov Siroon, Siroon" (Oh, You Beautiful) and different poems.
Spokesman for the Constitutional Court Hovhannes Papikyan and MP Galust Sahakyan shared their memories about the writer.
“Great people always stay with us, they never pass away. One must not criticize the great who have a definite mission to accomplish,” said Galust Sahakyan. He called on the future pedagogues to value and complete their contribution and to instill civility in their students.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Sahakyan donated the University over 84 books.
