In the beginning of the 21st century, when only 30 per cent of the society was literate, preparation of qualified specialists of pedagogy was a primary issue. On 7 November 1922, the Pedagogical Institute was established, which has been named after the Great Enlightener Khachatur Abovyan since 1948.
It’s already 91 years that the Pedagogical University is the leader of the higher education sector that has undertaken the significant and noble mission of preparing teachers- specialists that symbolize complete dedication.
Nowadays, the University prepares pedagogues in around 47 specializations that is a real key for the graduates to open the doors to different sectors and to best represent themselves.
Throughout the activities the University did not bypass the latest scientific achievements, set new principles of the science of pedagogy adapting the educational experience of the developed countries to the traditional approaches.
Likewise, the University is making flowing steps forward setting new aims and objectives, thus, stating new names of scientists as well as making achievements in various fields of sciences.
Students that enter the threshold of the educational establishment are already sure and convinced that the profession of a pedagogue has no limits; it was, is and will be the specialization deserving homage and reverence at all times.
