A Theoretical, Practical and Research Visit to the Military Unit

A few days ago, the postgraduates of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, Department of Military Pedagogy and Psychology, accompanied by the Deputy Dean of

 Science and Postgraduate Education, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Hakob Tadevosyan and the Lecturer of the Department of Professional Education and Applied Pedagogy, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Volodya Gasparyan visited the military unit after Vazgen Sargsyan in Ararat.
 
The aim of the visit arranged in compliance with the content of the courses “Military Pedagogy” and “Methodological Issues of Military-Pedagogical Research” was to combine the theoretical, practical and research components of teaching processes.
  
The Deputy Head of the Commander’s Staff, Lieutenant Colonel Arthur Toumanyan introduced the students with the problems of the military unit, the communication cases with the enemy, the important role of the military unit in times of possible military activities, the directions of the activities implemented by the military psychologist at the military unit. Besides, the Lieutenant Colonel thoroughly presented the daily work the unit providing military services is involved in, as well as spoke about the military problems they are facing, the everyday living and service conditions of the soldiers, the teaching-educational methods and peculiarities.

Later on, the students made a tour around the military unit, communicated with the soldiers, spoke about a variety of subjects. 
 
The future military pedagogues also visited the shooting range where a shooting lesson was provided to them; and the commander of the tank unit gave a detailed explanation to the students about the technical capabilities of tanks and their structure.
 
In both units the postgraduate students did a testing survey to define the case specific and general stress amount of seventy temporary soldiers. What is more, the lecturer Hakob Tadevosyan introduced the students with the peculiarities of the survey, the instructioning, and the subject presentation skills.
 
Furthermore, the possible developments of the survey preliminarily modeled during the classes at the University, as well

 as the process and the further investigation steps were completely fulfilled. What is more, the outcomes of the survey implemented by the postgraduates will soon be published as an article.
 
In addition, on their way to the military unit the students also visited the house-museum of the Commander Vazgen Sargsyan where they got acquainted with single episodes from the life and activities of the Commander.    
 
“In fact, the emotional component is also very important in the course of preparation of military pedagogue-psychologists; it implies positive treatment, disposition, towards the military service, their professional activities,” the Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Hakob Tadevosyan mentioned in his interview to the armspu.am
