A chess tournament featuring eight lecturers of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) has been held at the University recently.
Each game of the round-robin tournament lasted ten minutes and was held in a heated atmosphere. The competition was adjudicated by Samvel Misakyan, a lecturer of the Chair of Chess and Sports.
In the long run, Hamlet Michaelyan, Head of the Chair of Mathematics Teaching Methods, became winner with six points, followed by Souren Barseghyan, Deputy Head of the Chair of Chess and Sports, who had 5.5 points. Armen Avagyan, a lecturer of the Chair of Informatics, finished third.
The organizers of the annual chess tournament are the Trade Union and Chair of Chess and Sports.
