Student Internship at Schools

The fourth year students of the ASPU Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography spent their five week pedagogical internship at the school N127. 

 
In the course of the internship, the students demonstrated professional qualifications and had an active involvement in various extracurricular events and thematic demonstration lessons.
 
 
At the end of the internship as a summarizing activity the future pedagogues organized a demonstration lesson on the subject of “Volcanos” to which were invited the pupils and teachers from different classes, fourth years students of the Department of Ecology and Chemistry and third year students of the Department of Geography of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography that are spending their internships in the same school .  
 
 
 They observed the demonstration lesson in the framework of psychological-pedagogical cognitive internship.     
 
 

“The demonstration lesson aims at showing the knowledge, skills and abilities that the students acquired during the practical work. The lesson had the objectives to draft a summary plan of the final lesson, to plan the work with the account of participation of all students and to distribute the functions, to prepare visual- illustrative materials that could be later on used during the lesson and would conclude the geographical ideas and concepts,” the Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Lecturer Anahit Minasyan mentioned in her interview to the armspu.am
 
   
 Afterwards, the students made a video presentation on the material they prepared preliminarily, showed the place of the volcano in question on the map, as a result of which the pupils in their turn were able to better understand it with the help of pictures and video materials.
 
 
 What is more, during the demonstration lesson the animals’ demeanor was displayed describing how they run away

 from a place, when feeling the upcoming disaster; thereafter, a modeling experience of the volcano eruption was displayed. 
     
After that, on the example of the dust and ash collected from the model, the pupils were shown and explained about the damage it causes and the rehabilitation work that is made in the area with the special equipment.
 
More to the point, the students of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography presented the methods and measures of protection of the population in times of the volcano activation, the rules of calm conduct of the people without panic, the rescue operations.
 
 
By the end of the demonstration lesson active question and answer developed, the students asked the pupils questions to ensure the good understanding of the lesson; they answered the questions with great enthusiasm, and made some judgments based on the model.
 
 
The supervisor of the internship and the group of teachers gave the Excellent mark for the students internship, for the fulfilled activities, and considered it a quality work, and highly assessed the discipline and the commitments towards their work.
