A matinée devoted to famous Armenian-American writer William Saroyan was held at the Faculty of Culture of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) at the initiative of the

University’s Cultural Centre.
The students of the ASPU Studio Theatre performed Saroyan’s plays “Hello Out There!” “Armenian” and “Genius,” conveying to the audience the sorrow and affliction of the writer.
Thanks to their excellent performance, the students were able to ‘take’ the presentees to the human and humane world of the great writer.

"Armenian-American writer William Saroyan is a global phenomenon who introduced his style and philosophy in the literature. He saw poverty and experienced many hardships. His characters are ordinary people, but the writer had a rich inner world which is reflected in his works,” said Professor Aelita Dolukhanyan, Doctor of Philology, Head of the Chair of Ancient and Medieval Armenian Literature Chair of Ancient and Medieval Armenian Literature and its Teaching Methods. She presented the attendees the bibliography of the writer and the most important episodes of his creative life.
The event was organized by Professor Arkadi Shekunts, Artistic Director of the ASPU Studio Theatre, Honoured Art Worker of the Republic of Armenia, and Herbert Gasparyan, RA Honoured Art Worker and Director.
