Today, within the framework of the TEMPUS project “MA Courses for Higher Education Managers; training leaders for education transformation management”, a regular workshop

seminar was held at the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan.
Those present were greeted by the Chancellor Rouben Mirzakhanyan and the Vice Chancellor on Education Quality and Distant Learning Mr. Tigran Ayvazyan.
Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan highlighted that the workshop will not only allow them to sum up the activities implemented during the year, but will let them plan the upcoming activities too.
In addition, the Head of the “TEMPUS” National Office Ms. Lana Karlova agreed with the opinion that through the meetings the specialists of the field got familiar with the innovations and main trends of the education and the IT sector.
The Head of the “TEMPUS” Project Office noted with regret that in many countries, including Armenia, the Bologna system has a formal nature; in fact, the participation in the project might also solve that issue and apply contextual changes in undergraduate and postgraduate education systems.

Further on the representative of the European Center for Investigations and Initiatives Ms. Luiza Ardizone gave an overall positive assessment of the one-year activities of the TEMPUS “MA Courses for Higher Education Managers; training leaders for education transformation management” project.
Besides, she presented the outcomes of the monitoring implemented by the European Center for Investigations and Initiatives and thoroughly explained the work fulfilled during this period.
Afterwards, the representative of the Bath SPA University Mr. Paul Highland spoke about the project and emphasized the

clarification of the final results and the further activities. He anticipated the activity of the participants and the involvement of as many persons as possible into the project.
In the second part of the workshop-conference the project participating colleagues , the representatives of the Pedagogical , Armenian State Economic, the Vanadzor State Pedagogical, and the Goris State Universities, as well as the Ilia University of Georgia, the Black -sea International, the Shota Rustavelli and the Akaki Tsereteli State Universities came with the first set of reports on the work package.

Furthermore, the Head of the Department of Programme Development and Monitoring Ms. Rita Gevorgyan presented the “Education Management” professional education programmes implemented within the framework of the TEMPUS MAHATMA project as well as other elaborated courses, the work package provided to the students, spoke about the details of the upcoming strategy and the planning of activities for the next two years.
In her turn Ms. Rita Gevorgyan evaluated the project outcomes, taking into consideration also the opinions of the European colleagues.
The project activities will continue tomorrow, and students’ mobility issues will be discussed.
We would like to remind that the aim of the TEMPUS project “MA Courses for Higher Education Managers; training leaders for education transformation management” is to work out an educational programme based of the education outcomes, a corresponding assessment system based on these outcomes, and the teaching and learning methodology.
The project duration is 36 months; the finish is foreseen on 14 October 2015.
The Armenian State Pedagogical University that has won the grant is coordinating body the workflow.
