From 18 to 22 November, fifty-five teachers from the ASPU Primary School N57 after Vahan Totovents and the (High-School) College participated in a training sessions at the

Pedagogical University; the trainings were conducted by the University’s lecturers and aimed at developing the teachers’ practical skills and professional knowledge.
The grounds for conducting these sessions based on the results of the preliminarily arranged testing during which the teachers’ strong and weak professional sides were studied together with their mental and professional capabilities.
In the course of the trainings the teachers worked with the modern teaching methods and deepened the RA secondary education state criteria and the objective standard requirements, as well as got acquainted with various pedagogical technologies.
Moreover, discussing the peculiarities of the learning-centered teaching approach and the new assessment system fundamentals, the teachers planed classes that were jointly analyzed in small subject groups.

At the end of the session the participants noticed that in a few days only, working with the modern class model, they managed to make some emphasis for their future work, therewith making the activities criteria-oriented, paying more attention to the collaboration among the colleagues, students and their parents, to thorough planning and analysis of all steps, clarification of the student-teacher relations, offers and demands.
“Despite the short time frame, the teachers received as much knowledge as possible together with the new professional approaches; besides, laws on education and science as well as laws and regulations on secondary programmes were also discussed within the framework of the project. Comprehensive presentation of all the necessary sides of working out and fulfilling the curricula and the course plan was made. Major importance was given to the study of assessment system,” the Director of the (High School) College Ms. Naira Safaryan noted in her interview to the armspu.am
And last but not least, the organizers of the training session Ms. Naira Toghanyan, Ms. Astghik Balayan, Ms. Lida Avanesyan and Ms. Laura Avagyan mentioned that the work with teachers would be continuous; in fact, activities were implemented both on the spot at schools, and at the university with the initially fixed schedule and content.
