The Committee of Sport, Chess and Healthy Lifestyle of the ASPU Student Council has organized an inter-faculty swimming championship featuring three participants from seven faculties.

Representatives of four faculties reached the final round after summarizing the results of the first round. These were the students of Faculties of History and Jurisprudence, Sociology and Psychology of Education, Art Education and Biology, Chemistry and Geography.

The Faculty of History and Jurisprudence came the first showing the best result (51 seconds). The Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography was second (one minute), followed by the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology of Education (1.30 minutes).

“Similar competitions are encouraging and exciting for students. ASPU is one of the first universities to take effective measures to promote healthy lifestyle. It is more important to organize swimming training for the University’s freshmen. In the result, today we have good swimmers at the University who can take prizes at intercollegiate competitions,” Armine Serobyan, Head of the Committee of Sport, Chess and Healthy Lifestyle, said in conversation with armspu.am.

For his turn, Tigran Khachatryan, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of History and Jurisprudence, added that ‘the intercollegiate tournament has proved once again that swimming lessons are effective and in high demand.’
