The Student Council of Armenian State Pedagogical University recently held a general meeting at the Faculty of Culture. After greeting the attendees, Nersik Margaryan, Chairman

of the ASPU Student Council, presented the work done by the Council in 2013 and spoke about the accomplishments and achievements.
Mr. Margaryan particularly highlighted the special medal received by RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, the swimming course arranged for first-year students, the trip of the University’s dance group to Lithuania and the launch of the Council’s website.
Later on, members of the Student Council elected Edik Gulyan, a graduate student of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics as Quality Assurance Assistant of the Student Council.
Vrezh Ghazaryan, a graduate student of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology, was elected Coordinator of Internal Communications of the structure.
Further, Nersik Margaryan awarded certificates and awards to over 130 students, who had participated in debates, intellectual games, swimming competitions, volleyball, basketball, chess, football and other games.

Suren Barseghyan, Deputy Head of the Chair of Chess and Sports, handed out certificates and medals to winning students in football championships. The winners of the girls’ football championship earlier received gratuity by the ASPU Rector.
After the certificate award ceremony, Chairman of the Student Council Nersik Margaryan and Assistant Chairman Davit Aleksanyan gave special awards in a number of categories.
Tigran Karapetyan, Lusine Piroyan, Varazdat Yeghiazaryan and Astghik Shahverdyan were awarded for their outstanding contribution to the Student Council and long-term activities. The Commission on Chess, Sports and Healthy Lifestyle was named the Best Commission; the Commission on Intellectual Property became winner in the Best Club category, the Student Council of the Faculty of Art Education was named the Best Faculty Council. Besides, Tigran Khachatryan, Chairman of the Student Council of the Faculty of History and Jurisprudence, received the title of “Chairman of the

Best Student Council.”
The meeting was followed by a festive concert during which gifted students from different faculties congratulated all winners with their song and dance performances.
The festive evening full of surprises proceeded with the performances of about 600 students of the University – another initiative of the ASPU Student Council aimed at making students’ daily routine more interesting and enjoyable. The Council promised to make such meetings continuous.
