Debate Club sums up results of interfaculty tournament

The Debate Club of the Faculty of Primary Education organized an interfaculty tournament in December within the scope of which a series of seminars were held at the Faculty. Also,

 distinguished experts of different spheres were invited to the Club. 
 
 
During the discussions, experts familiarized the students with the existing problems in their areas, the positive and negative sides. Mileta Aristakesyan, Vice President of the RA National Association of Consumers, a chemist and quality auditor, told students about the safety standards and requirements for children’s toys and the problems of the sphere. 
 
 
Within the framework of the events, the Debate Club also hosted Galust Nanyan, an expert of the Public Environmental Information Centre. During the discussion entitled “Mining Industry Damages Ecosystem,” the expert dwelt on the positive and negative aspects of opencast and close mining, environmental and health problems and the standards applicable to mining operations.
 
 
 Talking to armspu.am, Liana Chobanyan, founding head of the Debate Club, said a series of debates had been held on the aforesaid topics which gave the students an opportunity to consider the problems thoroughly and from different perspectives.
 
 
Speaking about the results, Liana Chobanyan said the participants of the tournament were second-year students of the four departments of the Faculty of Primary Education who were registered at the Debate Club and included in the teams. The winning teams that reached the semifinals will face each other in the near future.
