The results of a pilot programme of continuous practice have been summed up at the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography. The yearlong practice, which started in the

second semester of the second year and completed in the first semester of the third year, was held at the ASPU Basic (High School) College.
The internship was supervised by lecturers Anahit Minasyan, Tsovinar Mkrtchyan and Susanna Janikyan. The participants of the programme were students of the Faculty majoring in Geography.
The primary goal of the pilot programme was to develop and improve the organization of students’ practical activities. Thanks to the introduction of new approaches, the students were able to deepen their knowledge about the school and its role, as well as teaching and educational process, psychological and pedagogical foundations. In addition, as a result of continuous practice, students can learn how to perform research and observation.
The students were first introduced to the structure of school, its internal regulations, teaching and educational nuances, then they learned how to plan their individual and group activities and implement them.

The future geographers also participated in the events held at the ASPU Basic (High School) College and helped teachers in organizational matters.
In the second part of the practice, the students initiated a number of extracurricular events, including quiz games, tours to the University’s museum and reading-hall, Museum of Nature in Yerevan, modeled and rehearsed a methodological unit sitting in which distributed positions by the principle of a role-playing game, developed a plan and conduct regulations, singled out problems, suggested solutions, and approved the schedule.
The results of the practice were submitted for review in the form of folders and poster presentations.
The students will apply the knowledge acquired during the practice in the next [teaching] phase of the practice to be held in the 3rd and 4th years of studies. The future geographers also expressed their gratitude to the organizers of the programme, particularly Head of the ASPU Basic (High School) College Naira Safaryan. They stressed that the practice was held in a constructive atmosphere and greatly contributed to the formation and development of their practical skills and abilities.
Svetlana Hovakimyan, Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography, Vahan Sargsyan, Head of Internship Department, and representatives of the University of Oulu (Finland) observed the entire process of practice.
