ASPU Scientific Library ranked leader among libraries

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia in cooperation with the National Library of Armenia has published the statistical directory “Armenian Libraries in 2012,” which provides information about public and university libraries in 2012.
The Scientific Library of Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan is ranked the first among the 15 libraries of higher education institutions according to its readership and circulation.
The library has had 16 805 readers and a circulation of 2.398.181 printed items over a year.
Talking to armspu.am, Director of the ASPU Scientific Library Tigran Petrosyants said the ASPU library is one of the best libraries in the republic; it can also transmit books in electronic format and plans to set up an electronic (digital) library in the near future.
Tigran Petrosyants was glad to say that in addition to University students, the library is also used by students of other universities. “Read books! Books are the greatest treasure,” he added.
