Discussions about the Mandatory Use of the First Armenian Tablets

The Pedagogical University, under the initiative of the Head of the Department of Chess and Sports, the Grand Master Smbat Lputyan, welcomed the representatives of the sphere

 of education to discuss the trainings of supervising teachers and the importance of application of IT in the forthcoming academic year.
 
 
Among the topic of discussion were the first Armenian tablet- Armtab, its application form, effectiveness and software features.
 
 
The President of the «Technology and Science Dynamics Inc․/Armtab Technologies» Armenian-American company, operating in the sphere of Armenian IT, Mr. Vahan Shaqaryan introduced the technical features of the first Armenian portable computers- tablets, its compliance with the international standards, as well as the success of the company’s product in a number of countries.  
 
 
“These tablets are not inferior in quality if compared with the world- famous brands; the mechanism may be the best among all other existing ones, but the issues of its efficient and correct application are more significant”, Mr. Vahan Shaqaryan mentioned and highlighted that the process must begin first of all with training teachers.
 
 

In addition, during the discussions the Head of the Armenian Virtual University Mr. Yervand Zoryan and Director Ms. Hasmik Khalapyan demonstrated the forms and necessity of teaching with the tablets. Ms. Hasmik Khalapyan also observed the new online opportunities in the sphere of education in Armenia, as well as introduced the courses offered by the AVU.
 
 
“Due to virtual teaching the students obtain reading, writing, speaking and comprehension skills”, Mr. Yervand Zoryan assured and called for the education sector authorities to study the successful international experience which will ensure the effective beginning.
 
 

Moreover, during the meeting a number of other issues related to the problem were also discussed; the Head of the Department of Public Education from the Yerevan City Hall Ms. Gayanei Soghomonyan in her turn suggested forming working groups to adjust a number of software issues and to coordinate them with the Ministry of Education and Science.
