Professor Kim Ghahramanyan passes away at 72

Kim Ghahramanyan, Professor at the Chair of Political Science and History of Law, ASPU, Doctor of Historical Sciences, died on January 31 at the age of 72.
 
 
Born in Nerkin Shen village, Shahumyan region, Ghahramanyan was a graduate of the State Pedagogical Institute after Kh. Abovyan. Later he returned to his Native Land where he began his pedagogical career.
 
 
He devoted most of his life to research and educational work.
 
 
The famed professor was known in the republic as a historian and political scientist, author of many monographs which were mainly devoted to the history of his homeland – Northern Artsakh, and the national liberation struggle.
 
 
In order to gather and unite refugees from Shahumyan, the great patriot published and distributed [for about twenty years] “Mravi Ghoghanjner” (The Bells of Mrav) newspaper.
The memory of the respectable intellectual, responsive lecturer and true citizen will live forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

The staff of the faculty of Philology also extended condolences to the family of Kim Ghahramanyan. “We were deeply saddened to learn about the death of Professor Kim Ghahramanyan, who lectured at the Faculty of Philology for many years. 
 
 
Blessed be the memory of the academician and professor who was respected by the academic staff and students as a conscientious educator, a true intellectual, a man of science, and a patriot infinitely devoted to his homeland,” reads the condolence letter.
