The Scientific Library of Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan has come up with another interesting initiative. The Library organized an exhibition devoted to

the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics scheduled to take place from 7 to 23 February.
Thanks to the efforts of Professor Ashot Babakhanyan, the visitors of the Scientific Library can hereinafter get acquainted with the maxi-cards, stamps and postcards issued for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
In addition to the postcards and stamps issued during the Soviet years, one can also see Olympic envelopes issued after Armenia’s independence.
“In the past, people collected thematic stamps. Ashot Babakhanyan is one of these collectors. His collection of stamps has been awarded numerous prizes. The initiative aims to inspire the present-day generation to collect things and also inform them about the events taking place in the globe,” Tigran Petrosyants, Director of the ASPU Scientific Library, told armspu.am.
The exhibition will run until the end of the Olympic Games.
