The Ministry of Education and Science introduced in 2013 a pilot program for rating public schools. The Ministry considers developing ratings for public schools to be its priority task and says it will help reveal the real picture at schools.
During the ratings, schools were grouped according to a number of criteria, including organizational form, geographical position, curriculum level and number of students. The criteria did not spread on primary and special schools.
Also, a special attention was paid to the level of teachers’ preparedness in the given educational institution. With an index of 10.14%, the teaching staff of the ASPU College came first on the list.
“It is especially important for us to appear in the list of top eight establishments, considering the ratio between university entrants and school-leavers in the current academic year. And the fact that our teachers were named the best educators is even more obliging,” Head of the ASPU Basic (High School) College Naira Safaryan told armspu.am.
