KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

According the curricula and internship schedule a pedagogical internship for 1511 students will be launched at the Pedagogical University during the first few weeks of the second

 term; in this framework, around, 1229 students will accomplish continuous internship.

 

 

The ASUP Head of Internship Department Mr. Vahan Sargsyan mentioned in his interview to the armspu.am, that the internship course descriptions preserving the general outline of the internship and all the changes were based on professional peculiarities. 

 

 

“In January, according the schedule, meetings with the Deans, Deputy Deans, Heads of Departments and Internship Supervisors were organized in all faculties of the University lead by the Head of the Education and Methodology Department, Deputy Chancellor Mher-Meliq Bakhshyan. During the meetings, the continuous internship dates were finally confirmed and the selection of schools was made; in this scope, 28 schools and 17 other institutions /colleges, NGOs, centers, orphanages, etc./ were selected for the implementation of the first stage of the continuous internship”, Mr. Vahan Sargsyan said.

 

 

In addition, the Head of the Internship Department observed that a few days before a seminar was organized for the Methodists, Pedagogues and Psychologists of the continuous internship during which the piloting results, the packages of model normative-legal documents, the content of the pedagogical internship portfolio, and the working rules were discussed.

 

 

 

More to the point, Mr. Vahan Sargsyan informed that 1300 portfolio samples were printed and a part of them was already distributed among the students; thus, the work is in progress, and in close future a new plan for the new process of organization of individual internships will be drafted.

 

 

“Taking into consideration its importance, research internships have been arranged for the students who are making research in the sphere of education. According to the prior arrangements, these students will also be involved in activities jointly undertaken within the cooperation of the “Luys” Foundation and the University”, the Head of the Internship Department added. 

 

 

In his turn, the Chancellor of the Pedagogical University Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan discussed the new format of the internships noticing that there was obvious progress in the internship organization activities , nevertheless, there was still a lot more to do. 

 

 

As a matter of fact, the Chancellor conditioned the problems and formal assessment that occurred during the internships with the incorrect selection and the lack of choice of the internship venue, after which he assigned the Deans to draft the schedule and to expand the scope of the internships taking into account the peculiarities of a number of specializations.
