From 21 February, the Native language day has been marked in a number of educational centers, including the Pedagogical University’s secondary school N57 after Vahan

Totovents; the celebration of the Native Language day was fixed by the UNESCO in 2006.
Pupils of 5-6 and 9 grades, supervised by the teacher of Armenian Language and Literature Ms. Hamest Balayan, presented their knowledge of the mother tongue to the guests and passed the messages of Armenian writers to keep the language clean and pure as it was the Armenian language that the St. Mashtots, Movses Khorenatsi, Tigran the Great and Garegin Nzhdeh were using.
“The world-spread Armenians are united by their native language; it is the strongest weapon of a nation’s survival and preservation, thus we must love and protect it”, the teacher Hamest Balayan stated on this occasion.
In her turn, the Director of the School Ms. Sousanna Khachatryan emphasized such events considering them another seed to sow patriotism.
“The poems about the Armenian language and nature forced us to go through all Armenia by tracing back through the pages of history. It may also be observed that the pupils are subconsciously following the messages of Armenian writers by passing the purest Armenian from generation to generation”, mentioned the Director of the school adding that we were also stable like our alphabet.
