The Special Education professionals paid visits to secondary schools of Gyumry, Vanadzor, as well as inclusive schools in Kotayk, Armavir providing free professional consultancy from November till February.

With the joint efforts of the diversified and mutlisectoral team consisting of the ASPU lecturers working with the blind and the hard-of-hearing persons, specialists of oligophrenopedagogy, specialists of ergotherapy, logopedists, special psychologists and postgraduates both children with special education needs, and their parents together with local teachers received consultations on inclusive education and methodological support.
“Inclusive education implies access to education for everybody. Today, a lot of changes may be observed in education sector that are aimed at ensuring teaching effectiveness to persons with special needs. We made numerous visits to the schools in Yerevan, but it was more complicated to arrange visits to regional schools because of the distance. I am glad to see that our methodological consultations motivated many people it was an unprecedented happening for them”, the Dean of the Faculty of Special Education Ms.
Armenouhi Avagyan mentioned in her interview to the armspu.am adding that there had been cases when the specialists from the ASPU visited the houses of persons with moving disabilities.
Besides, the Dean of the Faculty of Special Education mentioned that there were arrangements with the regional schools to hold online round-table discussions and trainings for specialists.
