A group of students payed a visit to the Narcological Clinic and to the Republican Center for AIDS Prevention of the RA Ministry of Health within the framework of the course “Human
Ecology”; the visit was made on the initiative of the Acting Head of Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection in the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography, Lyudmila Avanesyan, and the Associate Professor of the same Department, Sevilla Eghiazaryan.
The visit aimed to introduce the students with the statistic data of drug addiction and alcoholism in the country, also with the HIV/AIDS spread and prevention programmes.
The seminar-lessons gave the students opportunity to strengthen and uphold their theoretical knowledge obtained during the educational process.
In addition, the students also came to see the laboratories in the center, watched films about the AIDS, and through active questioning received information they needed.
Besides, it is important to mention that the Pedagogical University is the first in the country to undertake such a programme.
