04.04.2012

4 April, the Vice-President of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov paid a visit to the Philological Faculty of the Pedagogical University.

At the beginning of the meeting the Dean of the Philological Faculty, Doctor of Philological Sciences  Yuri Davtyan introduced Mr. Sharmazanov first as the graduate of the Pedagogical University, and then as a patriotic person loyal to his ideas, and well-aware of the foreign policy.

In his turn, Sharmazanov, outlining the importance of awareness of one’s country’s current state, delivered his report to the students on the subject “Armenia and Geographic Development”. While making the report, the NA Vice-President analyzed the political situation of various countries which deal with the RA, and within that context, he also touched upon the foreign policy of the Republic of Armenia. Speaking about the Artsakh- Azerbaijan relationship, Sharmazanov clarified the following;

“Artsakh announced its independence long before Azerbaijan. Throughout ages we have proved with our blood that the Armenian nation has its right to live and to create. While today, Azerbaijan is conducting a serious anti-Armenian policy in all directions. And this means, that we should also be initiative in our foreign policy.

Further on, turning to the students, Sharmazanov underlined that Armenians must not stay aback from the World and must walk along with it. In our days, every each of us has the wide opportunity of spreading any piece of information; it is only needed to sustain compatibility of the knowledge we have on the information field.

Besides, he suggested leading our national campaign by fighting in all possible ways even by distributing information on social networks.

During the lecture Sharmazanov also made analysis and combined the facts to make comparisons between Armenia and the neighbouring countries.

“A lot of us do not even imagine that today Armenia is in an undeclared war. We need to be ready to face the challenges of the 21st century. Today, Armenian is building its

 relations with the neighbours basing on the principle of permanent peace and stability. Thus, we should be guided only by our state-national profits, our national problems, be united and fulfil a flexible Armenia-oriented policy,” added Eduard Sharmazanov.

Quoting Garegin Njdeh’s words, he urged the students to be proud of being Armenian as it is them who build up the history of the independent country. “The ones who are displeased with their motherland, are suffering of the soul disease”, mentioned Eduard Sharmazanov on concluding his lecture.

By the end of the lecture, the Dean of the Philological Faculty, who was also present, turned to the NA Vice-President with the following words, “Today we witnessed an exceptional lecture. The analysis based on facts and Your information on the geographical progresses greatly troubled us. A brilliant work of a skilful jeweller is conducted in the field of foreign policy; that is why today we don’t realize pretty well the country’s current state.”

Vanuhi Baghramyan, the sophomore of the Philological Faculty grants immense meaning to this kind of lectures. “Unfortunately, today it has become some kind of stereotype that the political figures speak by terms only. Thus, it was a great pleasure to listen to Eduard Sharmazanov uncommon lecture in which the terms were replaced by a patriotic spirit. Each of us felt ourselves a strong individual in this ideological struggle for our country.”

By the way, the Philological Faculty often arranges events, open lessons, and lectures for our national campaigns.
