KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Today, the solemn opening ceremony of the TV studio named after the Translator, Publicist, Journalist Armen Hovhannisyan and the auditorium after the Historian, State and

 Cultural Figure Stepan Pogosyan was held at the Faculty of Culture of the Pedagogical University. 

 

Among those present at the opening ceremony were the family members, guests including the RA Minister of Culture Ms. Hasmik Poghosyan- the daughter of Stepan Poghosyan.

The guests made a tour at the new studio equipped with cameras and erection equipment. In addition, the family of Stepan Poghosyan donated the University with the historian’s authored books; in future, the auditorium itself will also serve as a reading-hall of the Department of TV-Journalism, where students may use the necessary literature. 

 

 

“Stepan Poghosyan, a person, who came from science, amassed the fears and pains of people. Wised up from that experience, the great culture and history connoisseur left an inerasable trace, his name is written in the history of Armenian television”, said the Head of the Department of TV Journalism Levon Galstyan and added that Stepan Poghosyan and Armen Hovhannisyan were the rare lucky ones who had achieved success not only in their sphere, but had created complete systems.  

 

 

What is more, the ceremony was particularly emotional, impressive and unexpected for the RA Minister of Culture Ms. Hasmik Poghosyan, as the Pedagogical University created such practical corners, where the names of both illustrious individuals will always stay alive.

 

 

It was a pleasant surprise for the Minister of Culture that philanthropists appraised the national values. 

“Thanks to them generations about whom we dream, will be brought up and educated.” 

 

Furthermore, the ASPU Head of the Department of Museology and Monument studies, Doctor of History Mr. Lavrenti Barseghyan observed that he considered himself a lucky person as he was familiar with both persons.

 

 

Speaking about Stepan Pogosyan, Mr. Lavrenti Barseghyan mentioned, “He was a great national figure; he left such historical heritage that a whole institute would not be able to leave. The more we get away from him, the more of his greatness we feel.”

 

 

In his turn the Rector of the University Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan considered it a huge achievement to open the studio and the auditorium at the Pedagogical, “There is a great sacrament that will not only promote complete organization of the academic process, but also keep the names of the illustrious figures alive.

 

 

At the end of the ceremony the Rector granted the Highest University awards- the Khachatur Abovyan Gold Medals to Ms. Hasmik Poghosyan and to the founder of the “Pious Generation” Foundation Mr. Barsegh Beglaryan. 

 

And last but not least, during the ceremony the guests also watched a film about Stepan Poghosyan and Armen Hovhannisyan.
