Gevorgyan Seminary of Echmiadzin, Deacon Gevorg visited the University.
The meeting started with the Lord’s Prayer after which the clergymen presented the meaning and significance of the Lent, the sacrament of repentance and prayers. Besides, speaking about the Lent, Deacon Gegham observed that it contributed to purification of a person’s body and soul, overcoming the weaknesses and strengthening the humane will.
During the meeting they also referred to the food used during the Lent, the necessary prayers and people’s behaviour:
“For every Christian person it is important to bear the Lord’s vivifying sacraments in his mind and soul: Realizing and living with the rules and commandments set by the Fathers of the Christian Churches, we are laying a good path for ourselves: By relying on God, we are overcoming the obstacles and difficulties of life more easily,” Deacon Gevorg noted during his conversation with the students.

In addition, the students asked the guests a number of questions and also enquired about the destructive sectarian movements in Armenia. The Deacon Gegham thoroughly explained the activities undertaken by the Armenian Apostolic Church, which, in the clergyman’s opinion, will foster people to unite at the church.
At the end of the meeting, the Assistant to the Dean of the Faculty of History and Law, the President of the SC Mr. Tigran Khachatryan expressed acknowledgements to the clergymen, and stressing the importance of such meetings, qualified them as a process aimed at the development of the Church- University relations, enrichment of students’ spiritual knowledge.
“It is extremely important for the society occurred in the vortex of net-centric warfare to stand today’s challenges and to unite around the Armenian Apostolic Church that has been protecting the Armenian nation for ages”.
