Rouben Mirzakhanyan: Final certification examinations will assess your knowledge
11.04.2014

Hrant Sarafyan, a second-year MA student of the Faculty of Philology of Armenian State Pedagogical University, is preparing for the final certification exams; time is pressing but there is still much work to do. The panic and fear that the future philologist felt at the thought of the upcoming examination process seem to be left behind.

The reason is the recent meeting between graduating students and ASPU Rector RoubenMirzakhanyan, which has become traditional ahead of final certification examinations.

Hrant confesses that this is one of those rare cases when you can confidently say that the exams will be transparent and only your knowledge will determine your final grade.

Students of the Faculties of Philology, Foreign Languages, Special and Primary Education had a good opportunity to get familiarised with the details of the entire examination process.

At the beginning of the meeting, the ASPU Rector urged the students to ‘get rid of the fear for final exams’ and seriously prepare for the examination process.

Stressing the importance of students’ participation in consultations and additional lessons organized by University departments, Rouben Mirzakhanyan underlined once more that the Rector’s Office is eager to see that the final exams are conducted properly and the results are satisfactory.

The ASPU Rector again enumerated the necessary things -educational manuals, programmmes and dictionaries -that will help students cope with the examination process if they are armed with proper knowledge. “Do not be subjected to deception or think about mediators. Just remember that final certification examinations will assess your knowledge,” he said.

Mr Mirzakhanyan also spoke about the changes and improvements made at the University in recent years, particularly, the international cooperation, construction of the new museum, teaching of languages, increase in practice hours and free swimming pool attendance for first-year students.

The students asked the Rector a number of questions. Some wondered whether they could be involved in international projects, others asked about employment opportunities and continuing professional activities at the University.

The Rector wished the students success during the graduation exams, reminding that the beginning of work activities is usually complicated.
