13.04.2014

On April 12, Armenian State Pedagogical University participated in traditional cleaning and improvement effort in the city of Yerevan known as Subbotnik - a voluntary cleanup day which usually falls on Saturday. The event was accompanied by tree-planting activities in all administrative districts of the city.

At the initiative of the Student Councils of the ten faculties of the University, students had been cleaning, improving and beatifying the area surrounding the University since early morning.

The students were actively engaged in space cleaning efforts; they planted trees, picked up papers and bags, took care of the greenery, removed household and construction waste from the area of the University’s six buildings and Oval Park.

“Yerevan is our home. Let us keep our home clean!” The future pedagogues are guided by this motto. Talking to old.aspu.am, the students said every year they participate in Subbotnik with great enthusiasm and readiness, realizing the ecological significance of the cleanup event and the importance of preserving native wildlife.
