‘”Love and Preserve French Language and Culture”

The series of events arranged on the International Francophonie Days were concluded at the Pedagogical University; the official closing ceremony was marked with the presence of the students of the Masis secondary school N4, school N48 after Misaque Manoushyan and the French School in Yerevan.

  

Each educational establishment introduced their programme enriched with the French spirit and colour; the Lord’s prayers in French, the hymn of the country and performance of the most famous literary pieces such as the “Notre Dame de Paris”, “The Dragonfly and the Ant”, etc. were presented.

 

The students of the Masis school N4 honoured the memory of the Genocide victims with their programme accompanied by the Duduk and reminded those present that France is the first country to officially recognise the Armenian Genocide. 

What is more, the youngest Francophones, the pupils of the French School in Yerevan performed a puppet show presenting the most famous French works.

   

 Furthermore, the story of the French islands and soft and rhythmic musical pieces so typically characterising them as well as the most romantic chanson that is never getting outdated –with all these the pupils of the school N48 after Misaque Manoushyan concluded the event on the International Francophonie Day. 

 

In addition, the guests and the participants of the event were greeted by the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Mr. Tigran Mickaelyan and the Head of the Department of Romanic Languages Ms. Donara Ghazaryan who also expressed their unveiled admiration and excitement about the event.

 

In his turn Mr. Tigran Mickaelyan noticed that the French love and initiative to present the high culture served as a proof of the teachers and students’ love towards the French culture.

 

Likewise, within the scope of school-university cooperation, Ms. Donara Ghazaryan considered the pupils’ visit as double holiday and emphasized the idea of being a member of a Francophone family.

“I’ll be happy to see students like you at our University; I wish your first visit at the Pedagogical be not the last one.  Love and preserve French language and culture till the end of your life”, Ms. Donara Ghazaryan summarized.

   

And last but not least, at the end of the concert the participants were granted certificates. Moreover, a surprise was prepared  for one of the pupils with disabilities from the Masis school N4 Tigran Hovsepyan; his dream to have a computer was fulfilled – the ASPU Faculty of Foreign Languages presented him a notebook.
