KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Today, a literary-musical matinee was arranged on the initiative of the Social Committee of the Students Council of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the illustrious Armenian poet Paruyr Sevak at the Pedagogical University.

During the matinee the students of the Faculty presented memorable episodes from the writer’s childhood, youth and mature years, as well as recited renowned and favourite poems created by the writer.

What is more, Sevak himself also “presented” his literary heritage through verbal images; and besides, poems of other writers dedicated to Sevak were also recited during the event.

In addition, the future pedagogue-psychologists performed the songs with the texts created by the writer as well as songs authored by Sayat-Nova. In fact, in 1967 Sevak submitted his candidate thesis on the topic of “Sayat- Nova”

“Speaking about Sevak means to speak about an immense poetic figure. The aim of the event was to once again introduce the rich literary heritage of Sevak on his 90th anniversary and to once again praise the writer’s contribution to the Armenian literature”, the student of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, President of the Student Council Arusyak Gevorgyan mentioned in her interview to the armpu.am.
