The Pedagogical University, in addition to other educational establishments, is in close cooperation also with the University of Leuven in Belgium in regards with the distant learning
introduction.
In order to work out the joint programme, the Pedagogical University welcomed the Professor of the University of Leuven of Belgium, Wim Van Petegem. The professor’s visit aimed to get familiar with the participating organizations on the spot, as he is also the Manager and Coordinator of the Distant Learning joint programme.
Wim Van Petegem is actively involved in distant learning issues, modern educational technologies, problems of knowledge dissemination and scientific communication.
Upon his visit, the Professor made a report on educational technologies and environments for the lecturers, the programmers, and the participating organizations at the Department of Informatics and its Teaching Methods.
In his report the professor introduced the experience of the University of Leuven and discussed the problems of the internalization and virtual mobility of distant learning, international programmes, and pedagogical approaches.
