Pupils of different schools continue to visit Armenian State Pedagogical University within the framework of university-school cooperation. This week, at the initiative of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography, the University hosted 11th form pupils of School N119after B. Jamkochyan, who competed in an intellectual game “Let us win by reasoning!”
The pupils were involved in “Red” and “Orange” teams and competed under the direct supervision of second-year students of the Faculty, who are undergoing psycho-pedagogical internship at School N119.
The intellectual game-competition was followed by a traditional visit to the three-dimensional museum and library of the University. Pupils of SchoolsN135 and 131 were also at the University within the framework of continuing practice.
The pupils also visited the laboratories of biology, botany, chemistry and zoology.
The parents of students studying at the Faculty of Primary Education also had an opportunity to get acquainted with the academic structures of the University, its chronology, specialists, who worked at the educational institution and had their contribution to the development of pedagogy, educational environment, samples of professional literature, library services and exchanged opinions on their impressions.
Pleased with their visit to the Pedagogical University and meeting with its teaching staff, the parents and lecturers promised to make the meetings regular in the future.
The University also hosted 3rd form pupils of N2 Primary School in Armavir city. The visit was arranged at the initiative of Anna Minasyan, who is taking a distance-learning course at the Faculty of Primary Education and voluntary practice at the aforesaid school.
The guests of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics differed from others: the Faculty opened its doors to 25 former students who graduated the University 40 years ago.
They walked around the Faculty, library and laboratories and noted that the University had undergone serious changes. Many of them today work in schools. They expressed hope that in the near future the Pedagogical University will have its role in the educational reforms underway in schools.
