Today, the Pedagogical University marked the 50th anniversary of cultural activities of the former lecturer of the University, the former Head of the “Nairi” Brass Band Mr. Edouard Barseghyan.
The musicologist, conductor, culture expert Edouard Barseghyan is currently residing and creating in France, but it is in his homeland and in the most native environment for him where he decided to celebrate this important jubilee for him and to introduce his authored film “T Song of the Scripture of the Louvre” that had numerous screenings in Paris .
On this occasion, the musicologist received congratulations from the State Brass Orchestra and the staff of the Art School after H. Edgaryan of the village Paraqar, region of Armavir. The latter highly praised his cultural and patriotic activities realized far away from his motherland.
Furthermore, for his immense contribution to the cultural life of the country the Head of the Department of Music Ara Gevorgyan also congratulated Edouard Barseghyan. He emphasized the fact that the University’s brass band participated in international festivals, received the Grand –prix in Czechoslovakia and in Moscow during the years when he was still at the University.
Upon returning to the dear university after so many years, Edouard Barseghyan noticed the changes that had taken place at the University and expressed his happiness observing the advantages of the Pedagogical over the other universities.
In addition, the film telling about the treasures and the biblical musical instruments of the Louvre was also presented during the event; according to the author, the filmed aimed at introducing the music of the ancient world as well as the important role of the Armenian culture based on the Holy Book.
Colleagues of the musicologist, professors Hravard Hakobyan and Lavrenti Barseghyan in their turn pointed out the film, expressing their desire to see the continuation and propagation of the film to be provided to school.
During the soiree, the Brass band, conducted by Edouard Barseghyan and Kolya Martirosyan, performed their musical pieces.
