KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

A few days ago, a group of students of the Pedagogical University’s Faculty of History and Law visited the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Accompanied by the Head of the Department of First Aid, Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Mr. Hakob Grigoryan and Lecturer Perch Karapetyan, the students made a tour in different divisions of the Ministry, met the staff, got familiar with their work, and discussed the questions of their interest with the specialists.

The Deputy Head of the Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Ms. Ashkhen Tovmasyan explained to the students the causes of earthquakes, types and levels of the danger thereof. Moreover, the students watched videos about the measures to protect against strong shocks at the Ministry’s Department of Reducing the Seismic Risks.

Besides, the specialists at the given Department also spoke about the main errors and mistakes when constructing buildings. In addition, the students were also accompanied to the Centre for Crisis Management- to 911; thus, the future pedagogues strengthened the theoretical knowledge acquired during the lectures.
