KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

For the ninth year in a row, a republican festival of school choirs is organized at Armenian State Pedagogical University at the initiative of the University’s Culture Centre and National Institute of Education. 

The newly-opened hall of the ASPU 3rd building hosted school choirs from Yerevan, Armavir, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Lori and Syunik regions, whose conductors are mainly graduates of Armenian State Pedagogical University.

Pupils of Schools â„–194, 199, 89, 147, 177, 131, 186, 17, 154 and Musical School â„–13 of Yerevan, as well as pupils of â„–4 Primary School ofEtchmiadzin, secondary schoolsof Myasnikyan,Sardarapat and Aray villages, â„–1Primary School of Metsamor, secondary school after VahanTekeyan of Kabi village, secondary school of Verishen community, â„–2secondary school of Abovyan and â„–2secondary school after SurbGrigorLusavorich of Stepanavan,performed works of different genres.

The festival was attended by ASPU Rector Ruben Mirzakhanyan, Deputy Director of the National Institute of Education AnahitBakhshyan, lecturers, parents and students. 

MsAnahitBakhshyan welcomed the organizers and participants of the traditional festival and thanked the conductors for their assiduous work. 

Then, AnahitBakhshyan and ArkadiShekunts, Professor of the Culture Centre, gave Certificates of Participation to conductors SonikSmbatyan, GayaneMardoyan, Rita Grigoryan, SatenikTovmasyan, MarietaMkrtchyan, HaykanushGeghamyan, KarineMkrtchyan, ManikManukyan, HeghineMkrtchyan, Liana Gevorgyan, LilitSimonyan, MarietaKarapetyan, AlvardPetrosyan, GoharGyulnazaryan, Naira Kyosayan, TatevikAbrahamyan, AnahitGalstyan and Arno Barkhudaryan.

“My soul is filled with joy when I see this packed hall singing together. The Armenian nation should alwayssign- this was the dream of Komitas,” said ArkadiHekunts. Then he addressed to the pupils saying, ‘Music is happiness, joy and pride. Continue to sign no matter what profession you choose as your career, because people who can sing have a pure spirit.”

Pupils of Duetro Studio, Yana and AvetisyanHovhannisyan, made the song festival even more fascinating with their beautiful performances.
