Jubilee “Last Bell” at ASPU Basic College
23.05.2014

May 23 was a double celebration for the ASPU Basic (High School) College: traditional Last Bell announcing the end of school years for 12th-form pupils was rung at the establishment already for the 20th year in a row.

This year, the school-leaving celebration was held at the newly-opened hall of the ASPU 3rd building. The event was attended by ASPU Rector Ruben Mirzakhanyan, vice-rectors, teachers and parents.

Congratulating the pupils and extending his best wishes on the occasion, Mr Mirzakhanyan said he would be happy to see them studying at the Pedagogical University in the near future.

The last lesson was held in a unique atmosphere, involving about 134 pupils of the streams of Humanities (Psychology, Journalism), Culture (Painting, Directing), Natural and Mathematical Sciences, with peculiarities typical of each stream.

The festive event started with the greetings of pupils of the stream of Humanities (Journalism) who dwelt on the present state of the profession in the country.

A beautiful show flavoured with unbending, artistic and dramatic episodes characteristic of directors… A positive and amusing video … The pupils of the stream of Painting left an unforgettable emotional impact on the audience performing dances of various nations with the pupils of other streams.

Further on, pupils of the streams of Natural and Mathematical Sciences and Psychology offered their words of thanks to the teaching staff of the ASPU Basic (High School) College, saying it was at this educational institution that they learnt the most important lessons and commandments for success in life which they are not going share with anyone.

The matinee ended with a joint song performed by pupils of all streams and accompanied by a beautiful waltz.

At the end of the event, Naira Safaryan, Principal of the ASPU Basic (High School) College, said that pupils are becoming more independent and self-organized with every passing year. She also informed the attendees that the greater part of the celebration became reality thanks to the efforts of pupils.

After wishing pupils success, Naira Safaryan expressed her joy at the fact that many of the pupils have chosen the Pedagogical University as the smithy of knowledge where they will continue their studies.

Talking to old.aspu.am Victoria Harutyunyan, form master of the stream of Culture (Painting), confessed that the sense of responsibility prevailed over excitement as she was sending off to a bigger life her first school-leavers.

The teacher of Mathematics urged pupils to take with them only the best memories as ‘positive ideas will help them achieve new horizons.’

Future director Anna Abrahamyan was also leaving the college with sweet memories. She is going to enrich her knowledge of the specialty at the Pedagogical University.

Anahit Grigoryan, a pupil of the stream of Journalism, also hopes to continue her studies at the ASPU where she will master the skills of a form master.

As a parent of a school-leaver, Ara Gevorgyan, Head of the Department of Music, ASPU, thanked the organizers of the event in the name of all parents.

A pleasant surprise awaited pupils at the end of the event. At the initiative of Elen Avetisyan, a graduate of Journalism Division, Laura Hayrapetyan, a participant of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, congratulated the pupils with her lively performance.
