
Armenian State Pedagogical University hosted on Tuesday ElyaHovhannisyan and AnahitKarapetyan, specialists of the State Employment Service Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
The guests first introduced the functions the Agency fulfills during the implementation of state programs on employment regulation directed at the creation of conditions for providing full and effective employment of the population.
Then, they presented the programmes carried out in the employment sector which are aimed at mediating jobseekersduring job placement at the regional centers.

In her speech, ElyaHovhannisyan said that local and international studies have shown that young people are more vulnerable in the labor market because they lack work experience.
To overcome the problem, the Agency organises a three-month programme, which is intended for specialists who graduated from University about three years ago and have been unable to find a job ever since.
Those individuals who are on a qualification experience route usually undergo practices in employment agencies and receive a salary.
“The programmes of the Agency cover all specialists,” said the representatives of the State Employment Service Agency and presented in detail the various programmes offered by the Agency, including the financial assistance provided for state registration for the purpose of vocational education and training, as well as entrepreneurial activities, partial compensation of employer’s salary who recruits groups of people uncompetitive in the labor market.
The specialists also advised all those who are interested in the activities of the Agency to visit its official website- www.employment.amand answered the questions of students related to employment opportunities.
Ara Yeremyan, ASPU Vice-Rector for Personnel and International Cooperation, considered the meeting very practical and informative for both lecturers and students and assured the presentees that the University was doing everything possible for students to be able to compete in the labour market on an equal footing.
The meeting was oragnised by the Department of Development and Monitoring of Long-term Programmes.
