KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Lalik Khachatryan, Professor of the Department of Armenian Language and its Teaching Methods, Armenian State Pedagogical University, recently participated in an international conference dedicated to the conservation and restoration of historical, cultural and architectural heritage. The conferencewas held at the Murad Rafaelian College in Venice. 

In his report entitled “Lexicographical legacy of Mkhitarianmonks in the context of development of Armenology,” the Professor gave the main characteristics of the lexicographical legacy of the monks (M. Sebastatsi, G. Avetikyan, M. Avgeryan, Kh. Syurmelyan), showing its important role in the development of Armenian lexicography (Hr.Atcharian, St. Malkhasyants, Ed. Aghayan, R. Ghazaryan, L. Khachatryan, L. Hovhannisyan and others). 

The reports presented at the international conference were mainly devoted to the restoration of Armenian churches. 

The topics discussed at the conference and the practical atmosphere of the meetings once again confirmed the necessity and usefulness of cultural ties between Armenia and Italy.
