Finland, Lithuania or Aghavnadzor?Over 40 students of Armenian State Pedagogical University today drew lots to know the name of the country that will host them within the framework of the Summer School program.
Many students expressed desire to participate in the five-stage program but only 40 of them had the opportunity to spend 10-14 days at the University of Oulu in Finland, Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences or at the Aghavnadzor-based Teaching and Training Center of Armenian State Pedagogical University.

The lucky students were welcomed and congratulated by ASPU Vice-Rector AraYeremyan, who said the program provided students an unprecedented opportunity to communicate with foreign students and develop their skills in foreign languages. The Vice-Rector advised the students not to view the program as a chance to travel for pleasure but as an educational and cognitiveopportunity and stressed thatthe knowledge of a foreign language cannot be a guarantee for participating in the Summer School program. “You should also try to surprise andfascinate foreigners with your gifts, profound intellect, singing and dancing skills,” he said.
“The days spent in Finland, Lithuania and Aghavnadzor mark the beginning of a qualitatively new stage of cooperation and avail a great opportunity to students for acquiring new knowledge. Those 10-14 days will be a period of success and harmony between nations,” said Vice-Rector SrbuhiGevorgyan. She wished that all students could realize the wishes outlined in their creative imagination.

Tigran Mikaelyan, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, emphasized the importance of cultural dialogue that lies at the basis of the program. He advised the students to enrich their knowledge not only by representing their own culture but also by taking good things from foreigners, at the same time developing their communication skills and proficiency in foreign languages.
In the name of the students, Chairman of the ASPU Student Council NersikMargaryan thanked the organizers of the exchange program for providing the unique opportunity and assured them that the program was a good way to encourage the students.
Mariam Tumanyan, a student of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology who is travel to Finland, did not conceal her happiness; she says the exchange program will help students get acquainted with the educational system of other countries and contribute to their professional and personal growth.

In her turn, LilitMnatsakanyan, another student who, despite her great desire to go to Finland, will spend her days in Aghavnadzor, added, "The collaboration will create a new and better learning environment for students, giving them an opportunity to teach and learn.” She is convinced that the Armenian side will also do everything to make students’ days interesting and meaningful.
