
The first volume of the scientific methodical journal “Main Issues in Special Education” has been published recently. It is intended for special educators, psychologists, teaching staff, graduate students, degree seekers, postgraduate students, representatives of inclusive education system, preschool teachers and parents of children with special educational needs.
The editorial board of the periodical is chaired by Ruben Mirzakhanyan, Rector of Armenian State Pedagogical University. The chief editor is Professor Robert Azaryan, Head of the Department of Special Pedagogy and Psychology, Doctor of Pedagogical Science, and the secretary is Tereza Azatyan, Vice-Dean for Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, Accosiate Professor.
The editorial board also includes professors from the universities of Novosibirsk, Setúbal, Kwidzyn, Moscow, Dagestan and Oulu, as well as lecturers from Yerevan State University, Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Armenian State Pedagogical University.
Emphasizing the importance of the periodical, Mr Ruben Mirzakhanyan said in the introduction, “As a center of science and education, the University’s priorities include expansion of scientific relations, inclusion in the global educational system, improvement and modernization of education quality, as well as updating of special education content.”
Talking to аspu.am, Robert Azaryan, the editor-in-chief of the scientific methodical journal, highlighted the importance of the journal. “The periodical aims to contribute to the development of pedagogical and special education in Armenia. Scientific and methodological articles to be published in the journal will cover issues relating to special pedagogy and psychology.
The presentation of the scientific methodical journal is scheduled for June 25.
The professor added that they are compiling materials for the second volume which will also include articles by different specialists. The journal will come out twice a year.
