KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Besides, Mr. Serzh Sargsyan noted in his speech that only that academic term was over, which would probably launch the most long-lasting period next. “People should be learning in the whole course of life, gaining knowledge, otherwise they will not be content with life, be in harmony with themselves, and make a major contribution to the society. The greatest figures of our nation, including Mesrop Mashtots, Khachatur Abovyan  and others, were either teachers or professors; even the other outstanding figures who did not teach themselves, remained and are known throughout generations as teachers. The boarders of responsibility of you profession are quite expansive; when entering the classroom you meet dozens of eyes filled with curiosity; let us not forget that these children are the most precious treasures for their parents and for Armenia; and with these eyes Armenia will be looking at you tomorrow.  

Today, for the very first time, I would like to publicly announce that within the scope of policy undertaken in the sphere of education the Armenian authorities have prepared an immense and significant project that was also rather expensive for the State and which will be introduced in the beginning of the upcoming academic year. All those, who will demonstrate active participation in the project implementation process, will be in the centre of attention of the State and the society.

This is a good opportunity and perspective for you to establish yourselves and to work in you favourite profession”, said the RA President Serzh Sargsyan reminding that the future of Armenia depended on the abovementioned success.  

Further on, the Rector of the Pedagogical University Mr. Rouben Mirzakhanyan conferred on the President the “Khachatur Abovyan” gold medal and highlighted that it was the oldest departmental medal with the history of seventy years.

In addition, the University’s Rector considered it a historical event that the President was at the University to grant diplomas to the best students and emphasized that it was a proof of the utmost significance the President of the country gave to the development of national schools.

The MA student of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology Ms. Astghik Shahnazaryan was deeply impressed; it was a great surprise for her to receive the diplomas form the State’s President, nevertheless, this was quite obliging, as well. Upon expressing her acknowledgements to the teaching staff of the University for equipping them with rich knowledge, the future psychologist mentioned that she imagines the next period of her life at her dear university at first as a PhD student, then as a member of staff.

The day is remarkable and went to history for the MA student of the Faculty of History and Law Mr. Roman Sahradyan, too; he is happy that the knowledge and the academic years is duly evaluated now. For the time being, he is still in doubts, whether he will undertake pedagogical activities or not but he is also sure that he’ll be working in his profession doing a socially beneficiary work.

The solemn ceremony of granting graduate diplomas continued with a festive celebration at the Pedagogical. RA Honoured Artist Shoushan Petrosyan, Leyla Saribekyan, Zarouhi Babayan, singers Hamlet Gevorgyan, Narek Makaryan, Sousanna Petrosyan and Arthur Grig performed with the accompaniment of the Symphony Orchestra of the State Radio and TV of Armenia.

To sum up, we would like to mention that in the course of a ninety-two -year of history of the Pedagogical University the President of the country paid his first visit to the Mother Pedagogical University which turned into a true celebration for the Pedagogical.
